The Mokena Elementary District 159 school board voted this week to uphold Mokena Junior High School's recent name change to Dr. Gary L. Bradbury Junior High. The switch is meant to honor Supt. Gary Bradbury, who is retiring in June after 32 years with the district. The name change, which was approved at last month's board meeting, caused an uproar in the community from residents who called the board's action sneaky.
