It is difficult to experience the joy and hope of Easter without walking the path of sorrow through the rest of Holy Week.
The weather on Palm Sunday this year in our town demonstrated what a lot of Holy Week is like. It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning. By the time evening came, it was raining and snowing. The wind was especially chilling. The first Holy Week started with great crowds of people welcoming Jesus into the city of Jerusalem as a conquering hero. As the days passed, religious and governmental leaders plotted against him. One of his followers betrayed Jesus, another denied that he knew him and the crowds that started the week cheering for him called for his death a few days ...
