Pat Quinn on Friday named his former physician and a highly regarded health care advocate to lead a state hospitals oversight board as it recovers from a corruption scandal during the Blagojevich administration. Dr. Quentin Young, 85, will serve on the Health Facilities Planning Board. He is a fixture in the health care industry, particularly in Cook County, where he once was chair of the Department of Medicine at Cook County Hospital. Young was Quinn's physician until he recently retired from private practice. In 2001, the duo walked across the state in support of better access to health care.
