When Ewan McGregor was complimented on the custom-made black cassock he wears as the papal Carmelengo, the Rev. Patrick McKenna, the actor laughed. ''Yes, I did look good in that, didn't I? It was made by the pope's private tailor. ... I don't think His Holiness will be too happy about that!''
McGregor also revealed the way he and veteran Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard prepared for their climactic confrontational scene near the end of the movie.
