"My goodness, only two games." Two games as the No. 3 hitter - specifically, two losses - and Soriano was back in the leadoff spot, presumably for the rest of the season. "I said we'd try it. We did," said manager Lou Piniella, who didn't offer much in the way of explanation after watching Soriano go 1-for-8 and the lineup eke out only one earned run over the previous two days.
