AURORA - Mayor Tom Weisner delivered his fifth State of the City address at the Paramount Theater Thursday night, his first since winning re-election earlier this month. And while much of it was focused on the progress Aurora has made over the past four years, Weisner did announce one new downtown project.
Developer Steve Arwady is poised to turn the 83-year-old Elks Club building at Stolp Avenue and Benton Street into a mixed-use condominium and restaurant development. The building currently houses the Aurora Election Commission on the first of four floors, but will soon include 19 condo units, ranging from 750 to 2,200 square feet, Arwady said.
