Every time Faith McCoy walks into her Jon 'Ric International Salon and Spa in Vernon Hills, she knows her parents are right there with her.
McCoy, 43, grew up in Chicago peeking through the windows of beauty salons as hair stylists created beautiful looks for women. Her mom wanted her to pursue her dream of becoming a hair stylist, and her dad wanted her to become a businesswoman. But they didn't get to see McCoy fulfill their wishes, as McCoy's mom died in 1995, and her dad died a year later.
McCoy said she knows, however, that her parents were with her when she recently opened Jon 'Ric on Townline Road.
