Article: Hawthorn Woods officials ponder different philosophy

The victors in the April 7 Hawthorn Woods general election want to finish the seven-year road program, improve village communications with residents and keep the village out of courts.

A major project the board hopes to finish is the special service area road project instituted in 2003 to fix 39 miles of village roads.

"We are absolutely going to be able to finish it," new Mayor Joseph Mancino said.

Whether or not the village had the money to finish the project became a major obstacle to its completion.
