By Carole Sharwarko and Jim Hook staff writers Some Glenwood residents awoke Friday to the sound of gunfire, as a South Holland police officer shot and killed a school bus hijacker who had led police on a 40-minute chase. Killed was Ronald Newsome, 35, 12113 S. Wallace St., Chicago, a driver for First Student Transportation Co., who had hijacked the bus after being told by his manager that he would not be allowed to drive Friday, South Holland police said.
