Here's a gem of a documentary about a Utah treasure hunter and two World War II vets who hid their booty overseas. To find this beautifully crafted film, though, the curious film buff must go off the beaten path, since "Loot" screens only on Saturday at Chicago Filmmakers in Andersonville.

Director Darius Marder opens on a semicomical note in introducing his subject. Lance Larson once spent a year and $100,000 digging a 35-foot-deep pit in the Philippines.
