Just last week, the Geneva School District put its stimulus dollars to work.
The School Board created a new administrative post with a job description that includes developing special student safety and discipline projects - and trying to find more money for the district. The district will pay for the position as part of $1.19 million Geneva schools picked up from the federal stimulus package approved and signed into law six months ago. While this is one position, it is an example of what could happen elsewhere in the Fox Valley: new positions, programs and projects funded with federal money earmarked for things local governments could not have paid for otherwise.
