This is the 28th anniversary of Banned Books Week, celebrated every year during the last week of September, an annual American Library Association event to celebrate the freedom to choose, the freedom to express one's opinion and intellectual freedom. It is sponsored by the American Booksellers Association, American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, the American Library Association, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Association of American Publishers and the National Association of College Stores.
