Officials at the Algonquin Public Library refused to schedule a reading by Linda Bartlett and Wen Marcec, co-authors of the children's' book: "Keby, The Earth-Friendly Bear." "They told us we weren't famous enough," said Bartlett.
Well, you know me, I'll talk to anybody. While Bartlett and Marcec may not yet be famous, I found them to be interesting women with a modest mission: To save the world. Marcec is a teacher's assistant in a special needs classroom in Geneva. Bartlett owns a cleaning service serving clients in the Fox Valley.
