It was 13 years ago that Walter Payton and his partners completed their grand vision of reviving the old crumbling railroad roundhouse on Broadway Avenue in Aurora.
Walter Payton's Roundhouse at 205 N. Broadway houses a restaurant and brewpub, numerous bars, a comedy club, banquet facilities and meeting rooms. A real treat is the one-room Walter Payton Museum where a replica of Payton's Super Bowl ring and other football memorabilia are on display. The famed Chicago Bears' running back saw the hollowed out limestone building become the booming dining and entertainment complex in the three short years before his death from a rare liver disease in 1999.
