Pashennaya, Vera Nikolayevna
(1887–1962), Soviet actress, who joined the
Maly Theatre
company in 1905 and remained there until 1922. She later went to the
Moscow Art Theatre
, and in 1941 was appointed to the Chair of Acting in the Shchepkin Theatre School. She appeared in a wide range of parts, including Schiller's Maria Stuart, Emilia in
Othello
, and Tanya in Leo
