WASHINGTON, Oct 08, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Petro-Canada has proposed a joint $500 million project with TransCanada Corp. to build an liquefied natural gas terminal 280 miles northeast of Montreal in Gros Cacouna. The facility, with a projected completion date of 2009, will have the capacity to receive up to 653.9 million cubic yards of gas per day. Then gas will be linked to the existing national grid via a new 149-mile natural-gas pipeline for transshipment to customers in central Canada and the U.S. Northeast and Midwest.
