- Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) chief executive officer Montree Sornpaisarn
denied a rumour that his firm planned to merge with Adkinson Securities.
The rumour came after Singapore's Kim Eng Holdings bought a 2 to 3 per
cent stake in Adkinson.
- Bank of Asia (BOA) said United Overseas Bank completed a mandatory
tender offer for the remaining 19.23 per cent stake it did not own in BOA.
The Singaporean bank said it received 780,338,554 shares representing 15.31
per cent of the bank's total worth. Thus, UOB's shareholding in BOA increased
from 80.77 per cent to 96.08 per cent.
