Siberian mine blast kills 13, injures 23

KEMEROVO, Russia, Oct 28, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Thirteen miners died in an explosion in a coal mine in Siberia Thursday morning, and at least 23 among 90 rescued from the mine were injured.

The blast took place at approximately 9:45 a.m. local time in the town of Belov, about 1,850 miles east of Moscow and near Russia's border with Mongolia, the BBC reported.
