Despite a rise of over 10 per cent in the number of children's television
programmes, too many quality shows are being axed due to changing schedules,
a recent committee report has said This month marks the first anniversary
of the government's order for all television stations to dedicate at least
one-tenth of their airtime to children's, youth and family programmes,
with one-and-a-half hours rather than 60 minutes of viewing during the
prime-time hours of 6pm-10pm.
Dr Yongyuth Wongpiromsan, leader of a committee evaluating children's
