Hansa Rostock, the bottom-place Bundesliga club, on Wednesday hired coach Joerg Berger, who has a proven record of saving teams from relegation.
"It's going to be a hard job, we all know it, the club, the players and I," Berger said. "But I was always a positive thinker."
Rostock has lost seven straight games at home and has collected only eight points from 13 matches. It's six points away from safety. Rostock is the only team from former East Germany in the top division.
