PREMENSTRUAL SYNDROME (PMS) and its accompanying hormonal changes can trigger disruptive symptoms in many women for as long as up to 10 days prior to menstruation.
These symptoms usually taper off within the first two days of menstruation. Women often report feeling a "tidal wave" of symptoms at the onset of PMS and they dread the approach of this time of the month.
Symptoms may be both emotional/behavioural and physical. The first includes feelings of anxiety, depression and tension as well as a lack of coordination and altered libido.
Physical symptoms include headaches, migraine, fluid retention, fatigue, ...
