The California State Fair wrapped up its 151st year on Labor Day, Monday,
September 6, in traditional State Fair style -- with fireworks, corn dogs
and funnel cakes. But in a word, the 2004 California State Fair was all
about "culture."
"This year's State Fair created the best of the best, despite the obstacles
we faced, and our programs were incredible," said Norb Bartosik, general
manager of California Exposition and State Fair.
Instead of three designated Culture Days, State Fair officials began a
program that incorporated a cornucopia of ethnic cultures into all 18 days
