FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. - As the nation continues to grapple with a growing
asthma epidemic, a new study released today finds that important components
of guidelines-based "best practices" in diagnosing and treating asthma vary
considerably among medical specialties.
The study, conducted jointly by Medco Health Solutions, Inc., (NYSE: MHS)
one of the nation's leading pharmacy benefits managers (PBM), and the
American Lung Association, was released at CHEST 2003, the annual
international scientific assembly of the American College of Chest
Physicians annual clinical conference.
