Greece is the country where the Olympic Games were born nearly 3,000 years ago. Athens was the site of the first Games of the modern era in 1896. The Greek people have embraced the Games as their birthright and hope that by returning to its cradle, the global sports extravaganza can recover some of its original spirit. NPR's Sylvia Poggioli recently visited Olympia and has this report.
