Fed: ACA proposes new rules for mobile phone premium services

CANBERRA, Dec 16 AAP - Monitoring mobile phone chat rooms to stop paedophiles from
targeting children were among a raft of new rules proposed by the Australian Communications
Authority (ACA) to protect mobile phone users.

The ACA called today for public feedback on its proposed new rules to protect consumers,
particularly children, accessing new premium services on their mobile phones.

The premium services include accessing sport scores, audio and video clips, sports
highlights and downloads of mobile ring tones, wallpaper, games and applications.
