Vic: State records lowest no of child drowning deaths

Victoria's recorded its lowest number of child drowning deaths since 1990.

The Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity's annual
report says three children drowned in 2003 -- 21 fewer than in 1990.

Council chairman Associate Professor JAMES KING says drownings are down because of
legislation requiring the fencing of all swimming pools.
