When the doors of Miami Beach's Eden Roc Hotel open to "The Social Event of
the Season" this Saturday, the first sounds of the ninth annual M. Athalie
Range Musical Celebration of Life Gala to greet the arriving guests will be
wondrous tones wrought from horsehair bows, catgut strings and fine maple
wood by the deft young hands and minds of the Michael D. Krop Senior High
School Classical String Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Bringle Cidel.
Well taught and intimately acquainted with the workings of their violins,
violas and cellos, these superbly gifted young musicians will surprise many
