DETROIT -- Michigan's largest weekly newspaper, the Metro Times, selected
The Michigan Citizen as Detroit's best weekly newspaper in 2004.
The Times, in its Sept. 29-Oct. 5 edition, said The Michigan Citizen is
"fiercely local and unapologetically populist."
The editorial staff named the Citizen "Best weekly paper not named Metro
Times," going on to say the Citizen "has its fingers all over the pulse of
issues important to labor, the working poor and minorities."
"Which means that the competition can be found choking on its dust when it
