For Durl Ebanks, the date Sept. 11 isn't associated with the 2001 terrorist
attack on the United States, but with the 2004 attack on the Cayman Islands
by Hurricane Ivan.

Ebanks, a taxi driver employed with the Cayman Islands Tourism Department
and spokesman for Grand Cayman Hurricane Island Relief, reports that Grand
Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, was hardest hit by Ivan.
The hurricane reached wind speeds of up to 200 miles per hour during its
two-day assault on the islands, located south of Cuba.

More than 95 percent of the buildings on the island have been damaged or
destroyed by the hurricane, and island residents need help rebuilding their
homes ...
