Commonwealth Games Federation president Michael Fennell says New Delhi must plan well for the 2010 games if it's to avert a desperate rush toward the final stages.

"If things aren't planned properly, it might lead to a desperate rush toward the end. New Delhi's aware of the need to plan well for preparing the infrastructure," Fennell said Thursday on arrival at the Indian capital to review the progress for the 2010 Games.

New Delhi beat the Canadian city of Hamilton for the right to stage the Games in a vote by Commonwealth Games Federation members last year.
