Mexican President Vicente Fox arrived Tuesday in Spain for a three-day visit expected to focus on increased economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

Fox, who was accompanied by his wife, Marta Sahagun, was greeted at Madrid's Barajas airport by Spain's foreign minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

The Mexican president is scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon with executives from telecommunications titan Telefonica, the electrical company Iberdrola and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, the second-largest Spanish bank.
