Wednesday, February 9, 2005 -- AMMAN - The Jordan-based Arab Bank will gradually close its branch in New York, where it faces lawsuits on grounds that it allegedly supported terrorism by funneling donations to Palestinian suicide bombers and their families.

The closure was announced in a Tuesday statement by the Central Bank of Jordan, which oversees the operations of Arab Bank, the kingdom's largest financial institution.
