(Daily Mississippian) (U-WIRE) OXFORD, Miss. -- As Valentine's Day roles around again, Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" takes its place at center stage in an effort to raise awareness about violence against women.
Sponsored by the Sarah Isom Center for Women's Studies, this student-led production will run Saturday and Monday nights, starting at 8 at Meek Hall.
Tickets cost $6 for students and $8 for non-students and can be bought ahead of time or at the door.
According to Jamie Dakin, administrator of the Sarah Isom Center, the play serves an important function with women. She said a woman is sexually assaulted every 90 minutes.
