FORT MYERS, Fla. --
The sun had just begun warming fans Monday morning when the men finally emerged from the clubhouse. There was no particular order to this casual parade of baseball players. Most walked. Some jogged. One player here, a group of two or three there.
Applause began as they moved through a roped-off corridor. Some oohs and aahs were offered. Every few minutes, someone screamed out, as if there was a prize for the first sighting.
