SINCE new drugs and therapies designed to treat Alzheimer's Disease (AD)
are now available, some experts feel that making the right diagnosis early
is extremely important.

AD is an age-related, irreversible disease, characterized by an exaggerated
loss of brain cells and subtle memory loss in its early stages. It affects
about 4 million Americans and the incidence is expected to rise
considerably as the early baby boomers grow older.

Although there is now a whole slew of new drugs to treat memory loss,
scientists are still waiting for a definitive test to diagnose AD. Right
