CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Linda Pelayo! The brouhaha at the close of the old
year was the unanimous choice of Dr. Pelayo (by the PIDCI board of
directors) as the 2005 grand marshal. Most everyone also know and read her
as Lili, writer of the popular, widely-read, back-page column "Sugar &
Spice" of this paper.

As noted by a columnist of another paper, Dr. Pelayo's selection is
historic in that this is the first time that wife and husband were "given
the same honor and recognition."

Husband being Filipino Reporter publisher and editor-in-chief Bert Pelayo,
who had an auspicious reign as grand marshal in 1997. Auspicious because
