Fed: Nine independents, no Libs and shock jock in race for seat

SYDNEY, Feb 25 AAP - There are nine independents, no Liberal candidate and a radio
shock jock whose main policy is free beer, but the race for the federal seat of Werriwa
will almost certainly be won by Labor.
The south-western Sydney seat was left vacant by former Labor leader Mark Latham, who
stepped down because of illness last month.
A by-election will be held on March 19.
The electorate has traditionally been a safe ALP seat, and former prime minister Gough
Whitlam held it for 26 years.
