CRIK: Punter to rewrite record books, Chappell

CHRISTCHURCH, NZ, March 7 AAP - Greg Chappell believes Ricky Ponting will rewrite cricket's
record books.
Former Australian captain Chappell said today the in-form Ponting was certain to surpass
Allan Border as the country's leading run-scorer and would challenge Sachin Tendulkar
for a new world record.
The stylish 87-Test batsman predicted the current skipper would play for at least six
more years, allowing him to take his current Test tally of 6,657 (average 55.47) well
beyond Border's 11,174 (50.56).
