Fed: US no match for Australia's love of surfing: Peralta

SYDNEY, March 9 AAP - An American writer and director whose new film explores the origins
of surfing admits his own country can't match Australia's love of riding waves.
"This (Australia) is maybe the most surfing-centric culture there is in the world,"
Stacy Peralta said in Sydney as he promoted his new documentary feature, Riding Giants.
"It is far more (surfing-centric) than it is in California and California is totally
surf-centric. Surfing is taken much more seriously here than it is in America."
