India and China began its first-ever strategic dialogue in New Delhi
January 24.
The Indian side was represented by Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran while
China was represented by Vice-Foreign Minister Wu Dawei.
The talks covered a range of international and regional issues, including
globalization, democratization of international relations, the need for
multi-polarity, UN reforms, non-proliferation, terrorism, and the situation
in the Korean peninsula.
According to India's ministry of external affairs, both sides agreed to
walk the new path because they believe that 'the current international
situation characterized by globalization presented an opportunity as ...
