Fed: Medical team to stay on in Iraq
CANBERRA, March 10 AAP - An Australian military medical team will stay an extra three
months in Iraq.
Defence Minister Robert Hill said Australia would continue to provide a specialist
Australian Defence Force medical team in Iraq until the end of June following a three-month
extension to the team's deployment.
Senator Hill said the medical team was one of the key Australian detachments serving
in Iraq and the extension recognised the important work they were performing.
He said the extension would involve a rotation of deployed ADF medical personnel, many
of them reservists.
