New South Wales beats Queensland by one wicket in domestic final

New South Wales eked out the closest of victories over traditional rivals Queensland on Sunday, winning the Australian domestic first-class cricket final by one wicket.

New South Wales, chasing 182 runs for victory on the third day of the final at the Gabba, was 183-9 after Queensland put up innings totals of 102 and 268. New South Wales scored 188 in its first innings.

Spin bowler Stuart MacGill became the unlikely hero for New South Wales when he hit the winning runs for the Blues.
