NSW: Politicians pedal for leukaemia research
SYDNEY, March 30 AAP - Federal government backbencher Bronwyn Bishop donned leathers
and hitched a ride on a Harley Davidson today as she joined other politicians on a charity
bike ride.
Health Minister Tony Abbott also swapped his suit for lycra as part of the annual Pollie
Pedal charity ride.
The group set off from Sydney early today on their 10-day, 1,000km ride through NSW
to raise money for childhood leukaemia research.
Along the way they'll be joined by Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson, Local Government
and Territories Minister Jim Lloyd and members Susan Ley, Jackie Kelly and Phil Barresi.
