Belgium will extradite a Moroccan man wanted by Spain in connection with last year's deadly Madrid train bombings, officials said Friday.

Youssef Belhadj, 28, was jailed Feb. 1, hours after Spanish authorities issued an international arrest warrant for the man.

Belhadj was to be extradited either Friday or Saturday, but judicial authorities refused to be specific because of security concerns.

"We cannot exactly say when, but it will happen. There is no problem," said Eric Vander Syp, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office.

Authorities in Madrid believe he is the al-Qaida spokesman mentioned in a video showing Islamic militants ...
