Pitcher Wade Miller plans to make his first rehab start Thursday with a Boston Red Sox minor-league team. And, no, it is not the Portland Sea Dogs. Miller, a free-agent acquisition from the Houston Astros, is recovering from a frayed rotator cuff. He is expected to pitch for the Class A Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks in a game at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
It is hoped that Miller will be ready to join the Red Sox by May 1.
