South Korea and the European Union faced off at the World Trade Organization on Monday, a continuation of their long-running tussle over financial help for shipyards.

At a meeting of the WTO's dispute settlement body, Seoul's delegation said South Korea already had complied with a ruling ordering it to halt some aid for the country's shipbuilders.

But EU trade officials said they were unconvinced and expect Seoul to explain in detail what steps it has taken.
