(Independent Florida Alligator) (U-WIRE) GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Tavares Washington will not be in this year's Heisman race.
Neither will the senior offensive lineman fill the big shoes left by Channing Crowder or Ciatrick Fason.
He is, however, one of coach Urban Meyer's favorite players because of his leadership.
"Tavares is a guy who, when I have an issue, I always go to him," Meyer said.
The 6-foot-4, 311-pound senior is relatively unknown to fans, but renowned in the locker room.
"Coach told me that I was his guy and his right-hand man," Washington said. "It feels great knowing he trusts me, and I try to live up to that."
