(The California Aggie) (U-WIRE) DAVIS, Calif. -- Freshman Kelly Ju said her mother almost gave her up for adoption in the eighth grade due to difficult family circumstances.
"I was scared," she said. "It was a reality that I did not want to see happen."
Fortunately for Ju, she was not given up for adoption.
Instead, she will be speaking out today silently in UC-Davis' first Silent Solidarity for people who are forced to put their children up for adoption.
"I want people to realize that it is not always the parent's fault," said Ju, treasurer of the Tercero Leadership Council.
The 105 participants of Silent Solidarity take up the challenge of not speaking ...
