Luizao had two reasons to celebrate.
The striker scored a record-setting 26th Copa Libertadores goal on Wednesday and helped Sao Paulo rout Bolivia's The Strongest 3-0 to finish atop Group 3 of the South American club competition.
Luizao, a member of Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning side, scored in the 38th minute with a left-footer from near the penalty spot, becoming the all-time leading scorer among Brazilian players in the Libertadores. He was tied with former Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro midfielder Palhinha, who scored 25 goals in the 1990s.
