Sinopec Plans More Shares in Southern China's Plastic Market

GUANGDONG, May 26, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's largest petrochemical company Sinopec announced recently that it would sponsor China (Lecong) Plastic Industry Trade Fair 2005 to be held during October 21 and 23, in order to expand its market shares in southern China.

In order to take more shares in southern China market, Sinopec founded a Guangzhou branch for chemical distribution.

Its manager Song Lihang said that Sinopec produces 9 million tons of plastic annually, some 70 percent of the country's total output and 40 percent of the total consumption.
